There are a variety of feminist subsets; socialist, radical, liberal, eco-, and cultural.

What do women need?

These needed changes are highlighted by many events in our culture, including #MeToo and anti-abortion legislation pushed through male dominated legislatures.

Women need independence: economically, medically, legally, and professionally.

Women need economic independence

With equal pay, women can keep a roof over their heads and their family, put food on the table, and put money aside for emergencies or big purchases like a car. Women need to be valued and respected equally with men through pay tied to the job done, not the gender of the person doing it.

But, those who play victim card

In India, where I come from, there has been a massive rise in in-laws supporting gender equality in the past couple of decades. From Dowry Prevention Law (Section 498/406 of IPC), Law against Domestic Violence, increasing the number of college seats in Government colleges to get more women into higher education (especially in tech), my country has gone leaps and bounds in the past years.

But women, in the name of feminism, have started to use it to their advantage to pull down other genders (men primarily, and also women). In a 2014 report by the Delhi Commission of Women (DCW), 53.2% of the rape cases reported were false. And the numbers remain almost the same.

 I apologize for quoting this above but. The report was considering all cases that “never reached trial” also as false cases. There are many situations where women drop their cases due to intense pressure from family/society or police intrusion into their personal lives. Not because the charges were wrong.

But it is rightly said- AURAT hi AURAT ki dushman hoti h. Many women use feminism for the sake of getting famous by false norms. We have heard about many false complaints against some famous celebs by women just for sale of frame and spotlight. Because of this many real complaints were similar ignored by police. Who need actual justice doesn’t get it.

Being feminist doesn’t mean that you are always intolerant. you can be a feminist and still not view every action as exploitation of women. Feminism breaks chain of biasness of the society. A women can still empower herself and uplift men at the same time. empowering women doesn’t mean disempowering men.

Feminism denotes balance between genders. That’s it. And many women (and men) fail to get that crucial point. I know that everyone cannot see the big picture and stop being selfish. Humans are generally selfish creatures. But what I expect from our society is a bit of humanity. And a habit of practice what you preach. I don’t know if I’m expecting too much, but I only hope you don’t have double standards.

Stop hiding behind a concept that was meant for the greater good, for your selfishness. I hope it’s not too much to ask.
