Being a woman doesn’t automatically make you a feminist. There are a variety of feminist subsets; socialist, radical, liberal, eco-, and cultural. What do women need? These needed changes are highlighted by many events in our culture, including #MeToo and anti-abortion legislation pushed through male dominated legislatures. Women need independence: economically, medically, legally, and professionally. Women need economic independence With equal pay, women can keep a roof over their heads and their family, put food on the table, and put money aside for emergencies or big purchases like a car. Women need to be valued and respected equally with men through pay tied to the job done, not the gender of the person doing it.
